I was in a car accident with a pedestrian which i felt wasnt my fault cause she walked into the side of my car while i was moving slow in traffic i honestly think this person is trying to get some money i filed a claim w/ my insurance company the next day. a week later i go to the police station and they state that the police report was missing. this morning an attorney representing the pedestrian calls me asking for my insurance policy # he had my license plate # but i wasnt sure if im supposed to give that insurance info over the phone to him and he stated that he had a copy of the police report so that sounded even fishier cause the police station supervisor said that they dont have the report and no one has a copy. What should i do? I told him ill call him back. Should i call him and give him the policy # or should i tell him that my insurance company will contact him? Since an attorney is contacting right after the accident it probably means im getting sued.
