You don’t need to call them back. However, they can get a subpoena to force you to show up in court to testify. I don’t know if they’d want to do that, though, if they don’t know what you’re going to say.

How about being a good citizen. If you do not respond he will have you brought into court to testify.

I am afraid you are already involved. Your best bet is to call the attorney back and tell them exactly what you saw.

The attorney can still subpoena you to testify in court, give deposition or participate in discovery. However, if he believes you won’t give testimony, etc. favorable to his client, he is unlikely to pursue. But…the other side might subpoena you in that case because the attorney will most likely have to list you in discovery as a witness to the accident. If you really want to avoid being involved, call them back and tell you didn’t see anything or that you don’t remember what happened.

You are involved, sorry but you’ll have to answer questions either voluntarily or under subpoena. Good Luck.

You don’t have to call them back, but expect more calls. Did police respond? That’s who you should have given a statement to.

You don’t neccessarily have to call back, but it would be nice. If and when you do talk to them, you can tell them that you don’t want to have anything to do with the case. That is perfectly fine. If you don’t call back, they might be able to send you a subpoena which will call you into court. Yo don’t want to ignore that. It’s really not that big of an issue. Furthermore, nothing is wrong with you telling them that you don’t want to have nothing to do with the case or you simply don’t know anything (even after the statement). Also, if they call you into court as a credible witness, you could be asked to do a lie detector test. Just to enlighten you. However, I wouldn’t be afraid about nothing. Whatever happens is what you allow to happen!
